First overall pick in 2022 91¿ì»îÁÖ×îаæ SuperDraft included among the top players in the league under the age of 22
CHARLOTTE (September 20, 2022) – Charlotte FC today announced Ben Bender was named to Major League Soccer’s 22 Under 22 for the 2022 season. Bender, the first overall pick in the 2022 91¿ì»îÁÖ×îаæ SuperDraft out of the University of Maryland, came in at #18.
Bender has scored three goals and added a team-leading six assists for the Crown during his rookie season.
To be eligible, players have to remain 21 or younger before the end of the 2022 91¿ì»îÁÖ×îаæ regular season, which is Decision Day on Oct. 9. Or in other words, they must be born on/after Oct. 10, 2000.
Charlotte FC is off this week during the international break but returns home on October 1 for a pivotal match against Eastern Conference leading Philadelphia Union. The Upper Bowl of Bank of America Stadium will be open for Fan Appreciation with tickets starting at $15.
