CHARLOTTE – C.F. Montreal came to Bank of America Stadium as one of the hottest teams in 91��������°�, but Charlotte FC midfielder Brandt Bronico believes that due to the nature of the league, every match in 91��������°� is winnable despite the opponent’s form. 

“The way I see the league in general, the teams in this league, is that there are no standout teams. Anybody can beat anybody on any given day. There are no Real Madrids or Manchester Cities, teams like that. We could have beat Montreal today, the difference is they finished their chances and we didn’t.” 

“It sucks losing, but I thought we had a lot of good moments. Soccer is a game of moments. If Franco scores the shot that Andre had maybe it’s a different game. We weren’t as clinical in the final third and we kind of got punished for it.” 

“But as still a new team, you will have small setbacks like today. You won’t win every game for the rest of the year. It’s just about going over the game and seeing what we can take from it and going on to Vancouver.” 

The Crown are one-third of the way into their inaugural season and have had the natural highs and lows that come with being an expansion team. Like any competitive player, Bronico would have liked more wins but feels it’s been an overall positive start to the Club’s life in 91��������°�. 

“There’s been a lot of stepping stones, a lot of learning curves with a new team and a bunch of new guys working together for the first time. Overall, I would say it’s been a positive start. Obviously, we want to be 12 – 0 right now but that’s tough for an expansion team. 

We have a lot of talented players, we have a lot of great guys, and we are still getting new guys in. It’s just about building that chemistry with each other and playing together more. And learning from our losses and building on our wins.  

At the end of the day, that’s really what it’s about, progressing together, and I think we can be a really good team and do something very special with this group.
